Recurring Dreams is an artist studio building engaged communities around the episodic stories, films, immersive installations and art we produce. We work with international arts, media, finance and tech partners whilst combining over 30 years of experience across visual art, scripted drama, feature film and mixed reality (XR) technologies. Our heritage dictates that inclusion, criticality and creativity are at the heart of everything we do.

Recurring Dreams was founded to leverage new technologies to craft culture and timeless narratives for global audiences. Managing Director, L-A Appiah honed her narrative and production talents over twenty years at WarnerMedia and NBC Universal working in long-form documentary and current affairs.

BAFF AKOTO 2022 WINS BFI CHANEL PRIZE FOR QUEEN OF GLORY

The inaugural @BFI & @CHANEL Filmmaker Award winners @baffakoto (Queen of Glory), @samfirthfilms (The Wolf Suit), @Kath_Ferguson (Nothing Compares) and @Erfan_Saa (Child of Empire). It’s an honour to receive the award and be in such esteemed company. Forever grateful.

Film Independent Spirit Awards 2022

“QUEEN OF GLORY”
Following London Film Festival and Champs Elysees Film Festival showings “Queen of Glory” continues its successful run. The film is nominated for two Film Independent Spirit Awards - Best First Feature and actor Meeko Gattuso shortlisted for Best Supporting Male.

UP:RISE Art Exhibition Across the UK (August 2021)

UP:RISE is a groundbreaking Augmented Reality public artwork by artist Baff Akoto concerned with the pathology, history and underlying drivers of English civil unrest in the digital age. Exhibiting nationwide from August 6th 2021, it marks 10 years since the uprisings of 2011 announced the arrival of 21st Century Britain.

Raised in London and Accra, Baff Akoto is an artist working across multiple mediums. He is currently busy with his next VR/immersive project and the following two artist film works in the Leave the Edges trilogy.
